And Now Comes New Years

December 26, 2009

We made it through Christmas with great joy and good weather. Santa came by on his yearly visit and, as far as we know, didn’t get stuck in any chimneys.
Next up is the celebration of the new year.  Things on the horizon point to 2010 being a very challenging and interesting year. One we’ll not [...]

Last night the snow came. Gently and steadily it fell, covering everything with 4 to 8 inches of beautiful whiteness. A nice gift to those who are coming for Christmas.
The sun is shining now and the roads are clearing fast. The weather is forecast to be partly cloudy and cold for the rest of the [...]

Snow Is Falling

November 20, 2009

The snow is falling at Lake Tahoe. Lots of it. When the front came through the temperature dropped 10 degrees in less than 30 minutes. High winds coupled with the snow to produce occasional white-out conditions but that’s let up now. Here at the TahoeVacations.com office it appears we have gotten about 3 inches of the [...]

Heavenly Ski Resort is planning to open for the 2009-2010 season on Friday, November 20. Just how much of the mountain will be available depends on whether we have some significant snowfall to augment their snowmaking.
We’ll post an update when more information is available.

Thanksgiving At Tahoe

November 2, 2009

Lake Tahoe and Thanksgiving.

Good food surrounded by the beauty of Mother Nature at her best. What more could you ask for?
How about skiing? [...]
