Taylor Creek Visitor Center

Over on the southwest shore of Lake Tahoe, close to a mile past Camp Richardson, you’ll find the Taylor Creek Visitor Center.  Operated by the National Forest Service it is a Day Use Area and there is no entrance fee.

The main attraction is the Rainbow Trail, a 1/2 mile interpretive loop that meanders through meadows, native plant life, and alongside the banks of Taylor Creek.  At the halfway point the well maintained trail takes you down a ramp and into the Stream Profile Chamber.  There, a diverted section of the creek flows past large glass windows giving you a below the surface view of the stream and its inhabitants.

Give it a look-see, folks.  It’s well worth the short drive over there. For more information: Taylor Creek Visitor Center
